Its hard to know exactly what to post about when you are seeing and doing so many things- at the risk of us repeating these stories over again when we see everyone in person, I will try to keep this as a broader overview.
We have gone adventuring, my friends, to places known but little explored or not very accessible. From the steep climb up mountains to view hidden waterfalls; to the many light sandy beaches; to magical garden carved from rock- so many sites we have seen. We took a day and just drove the island (didn’t quite make it all the way around as the entire ring road is 1.5 hours of driving straight without stopping) and stopped at many fun places to explore and take pictures. Here are just a few:
This is Namtok Tar Nim Magic Garden- the entire site was carved by a Samui fruit farmer, Nim Thongsuk, starting in 1976 when he was 77 years old. To actually be in this place you would think it was ancient as the stones are covered with moss and worn away with age. It’s the kind of place that feels as though if you stood still and looked out the corner of your eye, something would move or blink. As if on a certain time of day on a certain day of the year, the statues would stretch and reposition themselves for another cycle of the sun. It really does feel like the Magic Garden.
So many beaches.. well duh, its an island! We took a day and just drove down the east side to see the views and check out some touristy spots and some not so touristy spots. Lots of places that you need to climb to get to so having good shoes or being really adept at climbing in flip flops is necessary.
There will be many more pictures to see once I can get them all uploaded. Today is our last day here on Samui (SO SAD to leave!) so we are going down the west side of the island to check out some beaches; eat some good food; and have a dinner at a Sunset bar which I am sure those pictures are going to be just as amazing! Thanks for following us 🙂
