Hello from Chiang Mai

Hi friends! It’s been a few days since we’ve posted but know it’s because we’ve been out adventuring! After leaving the wonderful island of Samui, we took the hour and 10 minute flight to the northern province of Chiang Mai. This city was founded in 1201 and is what I like to call a “little big city”. Less than 300k residents within the city itself and only 1.9 million in the surrounding areas… however, there’s nothing you couldn’t find to do here!

You want lakes? Beautiful lake in the middle of the Chiang Mai university campus.
Mountain and jungle views? Yup it’s got those too…
Beautiful gates and majestic temples inside the city walls- tons of those! This one was next to the night market we walked through
Golden temples at the top of the mountain side- oh yeah 🙂
Old city gates with a moat around it?! Awesome!
Flower bridge over the moat ❤️

It’s been a fun journey so far! Having some classic “Ponkey” moments, like having to walk our scooter up the mountain a bit because it couldn’t make it… or Apple Maps failing us and talking us down the freeway on a scooter for like 10 minutes!!! But all in all, it’s been a fun adventure and it will continue… right after we finish this hour long foot massage 😉

  1. Great pictures! Those gold temples were amazing! I’ll bet you are seeing some amazing things at those markets. Have you eaten any bugs yet? Have fun!
